MOUNT BINARATAN (Barangay Maducayan, Natonin, Mountain Province)
It’s been a year since our plan didn’t go through for Maducayan trail loop. Our successful trek to the ridges of Mount Binaratan through Maducayan trail which offered an opportunity to witness the natural beauty and spectacular rainforest that features flora and fauna. Our team, composed of LGU, BLGU, PNP, and passionate hikers together with our host from CENRO, DENR, Paracelis celebrated the International day of forest for the observation of critical habitat within the area of Brgy. Maducayan, Natonin, Mt. Province.
Maducayan trail to Mount Binaratan is one of the Cordillera’s most fascinating destination. It takes an average of 8-9 hours and approximately 10.80 kilometers from Barangay Maducayan Tourist station to reach the last station with a maximum of 1,701 meter above sea level where you can view stunning sunrise and some other scenic views nearby Mount Binaratan. The Wet and wild muddy trail with full of hungry leeches got our day to ignite our pace more faster due to unpredictable rainy weather.
Mount Binaratan via Maducayan trail was also classified as major-hike(7-9 trail difficulty), generally considered as a challenging route and advanced-level for hikers because of lots of steep slopes, muddy trail, and rugged terrain with an intricate network of crek.
